Glacier National Park, also known as Waterton-Glacier National Peace Park, holds over one million acres of pristine land where many natural inhabitants are free to roam. This park contains more than 700 miles of trails, 350 historical landmarks, and has one of the largest natural ecosystems in the lower 48 states of the USA. Glacier National Park was not considered a National Park until May 11, 1910. In 1932, Glacier National Park in conjuction with Waterton National Park in Canada were declard Waterton-Glacier National Park. Together, in 1976, they were declared a Biosphere Reserver and in 1995 they were titled as a World Heritage Site.
